Low Profile Graphics Card With Hdmi Out

Graphics card dual screen question.

Hello, I have a couple of small form factor pc’s that need low profile graphics cards. Thing is I need to output display onto 2 monitors. I have one of these cards already by point of view and the configuration is basically identical to this one by msi: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/141456 I’m thinking of getting a couple of these IF they allow 2 screens with extended desktop (not cloned display). As you can see there is only one DVI output but then there is a HDMI. I know they call this dvi a “dual link” but as far as I understand this does not mean you can connect 2 monitors. Can I somehow adapt that HDMI out to a dvi cable and then into the dvi port on a standard monitor? Would I have trouble with resolution settings and would both the dvi and hdmi outs work at the same time? Thanks!

I’m not so sure the “MSI” will give you what you need. We use small form factors, and we use dual-screen provided by the Nvidia Quadro NVS cards. the cards have a digital output, but have a digital connection cable that splits the signal to 2 analog connections – clone, extend…do what you like.

They also come complete with the “small” bracket plate that fits the small form factor. You’ll notice that the size of the unit doesn’t allow for a “normal” sized graphics card, you need the smaller connection.

If your small form factors are HP, then you can get the correct cards straight off the HP site.
