Seo Rules Yahoo

Seo Rules Yahoo
When doing SEO stuff I observed some strangethings. Anyone else noticed?

granted, i’m a newb at this, when i do a keyword search for SEO on yahoo’s keyword selector tool, http://inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/

for ‘humanist’, i see several really strange related search terms that are completely nonsensical.

68 hits for “adventure consciousness dimension discovery humanist i ii in in new perspective psychotherapy self series suny transpersonal”

But they smack of the type of spam I have been getting in Yahoo! mail recently. It doesn’t try to sell anything, it’s just a series of nonsense. But it is very grammatical nonsense, that is, although there may be a high number of statistically significant phrases and large letter count or uncommonly used words within it, it does conform to english grammar rules. eg: The stapler laughed and conformed graciously when abrading the scapegoat. What the heck is all this?

It’s called SEO spam or blog spam.

Basically it’s computer-generated randomness but the purpose is to show up in the search engines so people click, then (hopefully) they click again on one of the Google AdSense ads that are on the spam page. You can buy software that churns out these pages automatically by the thousands. It’s a typical case of “scam of the week” because all the money is made by the guys selling the software to suckers who believe that spamming people is a legitimate business.

Good luck,
Scott
