Can a search engine spider read a page that is protected against being copied?
I have a few articles posted that I disabled the copy command on. The page can still be saved by a visitor, and the source viewed, but they can’t highlight the text to copy it. I’m wondering however, if the search engine robots can access that text or not. I’m thinking they might not be able to and am hoping someone who has more web knowledge than I do can answer it. I couldn’t find anything on the web about it.
The answer is YES they can. However, if you do not want them to index that page, then you can add a script blocking the robots/spiders.
