The transition from Windows to Mac web design software?
I just made the transition from Windows to Mac and I'm struggling to replace the existing I was accustomed to working with them. I used a previous version of Dreamweaver for my site, but the copy was not good for Mac and I can not install it. The same is true with image editing software I've used Microsoft (MS Digital Image, which sold even more than MS). Starting from scratch with new original versions of these is very expensive. Has anyone advice on how I can continue keeping my site without spending a fortune on the new software? genuine advice appreciated.
OK. There are two ways to do this, but I had a Mac for a while I will not say that I have personally tried, but that's what I want first try. If you have the original disks your old software, Dreamweaver, Microsoft Digital Image and original Windows (not an OEM version) downloads of Apple Bootcamp. With Bootcamp, you can install XP or Vista and run applications using her age, but that defeats the point of going to Mac Alternatively, if you still have the old Windoze computer, then use it to perform the tasks you needs. I tried the html editor and OKish if you have a basic knowledge HTML, but you should be fine for the maintenance of the site. Graphics. As has already been suggested Gimp is an excellent (free) design software that in some respects is a alternative to Photoshop. But the basic issue of the image, Google Picasa is a useful substitute: http://picasa.google.com/mac/ (Mac Version) A few years ago I defended Mac, but the cost problem you encountered has done for me at least, Apple makes the bitter taste.
